No Smoking Warning....be aware
The ERSL suggests that all clubs ensure their members are aware of the following changes to the City of Ottawa smoke-free regulations concerning parks and sports fields.
The City of Ottawa has adopted amendments to its by-laws to provide for more smoke-free spaces. The amendments are part of a strategy that is designed to protect children and non-smokers from second-hand smoke, while reducing smoking rates.
As of April 2, 2012, the following spaces will be smoke free:

- All outdoor areas on municipal properties including parks, playgrounds, beaches, sports fields, and outdoor areas around City facilities
- ByWard and Parkdale Market stands
- Outdoor restaurant, bar, and food premise patios
The new smoke-free regulations apply 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The City will undertake a phased-in approach for enforcement of the new smoke-free regulations. Beginning April 2, 2012, a warning phase and a public awareness and education campaign will be implemented. The public awareness and education campaign will help ensure all Ottawa residents and tourists are aware of the new regulations. Beginning July 2, 2012, charges will be laid as appropriate.

I have decided to try using a blog as my way of communicating with the team this season. Over the next few days and weeks I will be adding all the information that you will need throughout the season so please check regularly.
It will have all important dates, stats, changes, etc. The schedules and maps will all be posted and you will be able to check it whenever you need that information.
Tonight is the boys first game of the season. The game is being held at D A Moodie Dr. Park at 595 Moodie Dr. Start time is 7:00pm please arrive by 6:30 pm for warm up.
I will post all game results and photos as they become available. Please feel free to share them with your friends and family.
